YP10RS, 10 years of Radioscouting in Romania

We invite you to work with the special callsign YP10RS that we will be active from April 1-30, 2018 in the US 80 and 40 meter bands on the 3,650-3,750 MHz and 7,130-7,150 MHz frequencies, , from the locations of the members of the radio club and in portable of the localities of Valcea County.

10 years ago at the proposal of the former Secretary General of the Romanian Radioamateurs Federation, the late Vasile Ciobăniţă, the "Mircea cel Bătrân" Local Center of Râmnicu Vâlcea of the National Organization of Romanian Scouts requested and received from ANCOM the club sign YO7KRS thus the group of Scouts from Râmnicu Vâlcea became the first in the country whose members started practicing radioamatorism. In 2009, after the founding of the "Radioclubul Cozia" Association Râmnicu Vâlcea, this callsign was taken over by the newly established entity.

Scout Radioamateurs from Râmnicu Vâlcea have each year used special occasions dedicated to important moments in the history of the Romanian people, to local personalities including radio amateurs, historical monuments and protected natural areas in Valcea County. Besides these, there were several special indications dedicated to even Scouting events such as camps and jamboree.
